*Since changing from a free WordPress domain to my own personal domain, my images for older blog posts have broken. I am in the process of fixing the images from backups I possess, however, some images may have been lost forever. In the case of this blog post, the image(s) were not recovered, but I am keeping the written content available to read.*
So last week I was tagged by Dina who writes the lovely blog Cardiff Beauty Blog to do the ‘Me Time’ tag. Thank you so much! I really hope you don’t mind me pinching your image, I don’t have a program to make my own. >__>
I was so happy and surprised that you tagged me, and since I don’t really talk about myself too much on my blog, I think this is a brilliant opportunity to open up to you a guys a bit. I kind of figured you guys weren’t really interested in this kind of thing, but you’re welcome to set me straight if I’m mistaken, haha. So there are 10 questions to answer, so let’s jump right in.
1. What do you watch or read during me-time?
I haven’t really had much free time for reading since half of my degree is English literature based, but I do love films with a passion! I recently watched The Avengers: Age of Ultron at the cinema with my Mum, which I really enjoyed. Otherwise, if I’m spending my me-time at home, I watch a lot of video game channels and beauty YouTubers, as well as watching my group of online friends live-stream video games on Twitch.tv if they decide to play. Oh yes, I’m a huge nerd, I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned that?
2. What do you wear during me-time?
A lot of the time I will just wear my pyjamas, but if it’s slightly too early for that, or if I might have to go out again later, then my trusty leggings and a jumper is still pretty comfy for me. Although I do have a pair of jogging bottoms that I like to lounge in if I can find them. They are super duper comfy!
3. What are you me-time beauty products?
I have a love for face and eye masks. I’m not committed to one brand at the moment, since I’m experimenting, but Korean companies do awesome face masks that I wish I could hold of more easily! They’re so good! Plus eye masks (I have plans to review one at some point) are extremely relaxing.
4. Current favourite nail polish?
I honestly don’t paint my nails very often. I work in fashion retail at the moment so my nails end up cracking and tired after each weekend, so I don’t feel motivated to paint them very often. However, I do have about six of Seventeen’s 8 Hour Gel Colour nail polishes in lovely springtime colours on my desk begging me to use them up. So I guess they count?
5. What do you eat or drink during me-time?
I don’t snack anywhere near as much as I used to, so I can’t really say I eat anything in particular. But I love drinking tea, my boyfriend pokes fun at me all the time for how ‘British’ it is (he’s Canadian and loves teasing me). I particularly love my mint teas. Mint just comforts me for some reason. Otherwise, my family and I love your standard black tea with milk.
6. Current favourite candle?
Hmm… I don’t think I have a favourite scent right now, but I do have a few boxes of Yankee candles with different scents in tea lights. I tend to burn one a day and just choose whichever suits me at the time. I do love the Clean Cotton ones though. Takes the edge off the scent of my cats as they linger in my room almost 24/7. I guess that means they love me?
7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?
Ehhhh… In all honesty not really. I’m an introvert and find comfort in staying in familiar places. Although I don’t like being stuck inside all day or for too many days in a row, so if I need it I tend to take a brief walk into town, and try desperately not to increase my stash of makeup and skincare. It’s very tough… And not every time do I resist… *sighs*
8. Would you ever go see a movie alone?
Oh absolutely! When I was still living in Cardiff (I’ve moved back to my hometown now that university is all but finished) I would go to the cinema on my own all the time. At first I was nervous about going alone (it was something I used to do with my ex all the time so…) but now I see it as a great way to spend my free time. It’s jut a shame I can’t do that in my hometown.
9. Favourite online shop?
EBay. You can find most things you need, and I don’t mind ordering from overseas if the shipping isn’t extreme. Otherwise, I love looking through www.cutejapanesefashion.com as they have some of the cutest clothes ever. Or www.yesstyle.co.uk, although I don’t buy clothes from them often as they’re not very cheap and the shipping isn’t either.
10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?
I mentioned briefly that I’m a huge nerd, so I spend most of my free time playing video games. From time to time I might join my boyfriend on his streaming channel on Twitch and we’ll have fun and chat with our friends there while we play/fail at whatever game we decide to play. It’s not for everyone, but I love it, and my friends I’ve met there have made me laugh so much. Sometimes we’ll get a group of us together and we’ll play games as a group, which is always so much fun! There are times I laugh so much I cry! And that doesn’t happen often!
Thank you for taking the time to read this guys. Thank you again to Dina who tagged me, I really enjoyed writing this. If you like these kinds of posts where I open up a bit and talk about myself, let me know. I’ll consider looking at other tags, or writing other posts to tailor to that. I’m honestly still figuring out how to branch outside of just writing reviews 90% of the time, although I do enjoy it. So your feedback is much more valuable than you think. I don’t plan on tagging anyone, but if you read these questions and wanted to answer them yourself, I would love to read them! I love getting to know you guys and find it fascinating to see what you guys have to say.
