To kick off 2016, I’m going to review a scrub I started used towards the end of 2015, by the brand Melvita. I found this in my local TK Maxx, and as I’ve said before, I can’t help myself when I find skincare in there that looks like it’ll be great, and even better when it’s not too expensive. I picked this little guy up for £3.00, which I’m very happy about. I use facial scrubs between 2-3 times a week depending on how much I think I need it, so I knew this tube should last a while.
The product comes in a tube with a screw cap, so you just squeeze the tube to dispense product. From experience the cap is reasonably sturdy, although I haven’t travelled with it to test that properly. The packaging isn’t anything special, but it does its job, so I can’t complain. Like I’ve stated in previous posts, pretty or appealing packaging is great, but I’m not going to ignore a product just because it doesn’t look super cute or anything like that. After all, it’s the product inside that counts.
Speaking of the product itself, it’s a gel-based scrub with large exfoliating particles in it. The gel texture is great for my oily skin, although the exfoliating particles are very big and were very abrasive on my skin. Although, the positive to this for anyone this may not be too abrasive for, is that the product claims to use Argan nut powder, Birch sap and silica in the exfoliant properties, as well as propolis and calendula to purify and refine the skin.
I didn’t find it particularly refining or purifying, but it did leave my skin smoother than prior to use, although not completely smoothed out. So I can’t say it doesn’t do any good for my skin, however since its not worked entirely well, I am passing this on to someone else who might benefit more from it. I wouldn’t call this an entirely bad product, just not quite right for my skin.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post, it means the world to me. And I plan to have another post published tomorrow, which I hope you’ll consider reading.
