The following day, my boyfriend and I took a trip to an all-you-can-eat sushi place. The restaurant had a lively and warm atmosphere, and the food was interesting to try, since it was my first time eating sushi that wasn’t bought from the supermarket. The restaurant was called August 8 and was a tiny little place in Hamilton. The basic concept of the restaurant is that you can order as many dishes as you want within a 90 minute stay for a flat rate, and any dishes you don’t finish, they then charge separately. It’s an amazing idea, although don’t get greedy or you may find yourself caught out.
The afternoon was our trip to Niagara Falls – or at least the Canadian side. It was a freezing cold day out, but the Falls are something I had to see since I was in the right province. It makes me sound like a horrible person, but from the same angle as the photo above, my boyfriend and I watched a duck go over the edge of the Falls and we just laughed. So hard. I wish I had a video to show this, but it was one of those things that you have to get the timing right or just happen to be recording to catch it.
It’s hard to really demonstrate just how big the waterfalls really are, let alone how deep the water flows, but I’m really happy I had a chance to see them myself. It’s a memory I will always cherish. I’m not going to lie, something about the way the shrubbery looks encased in snow looks beautiful to me. Maybe I’m the Snow Queen and don’t know it?
Then there’s the selfies my boyfriend and I took together. Aren’t we cute? Just for reference, he had to bend his knees to get in the frame with me, since I’m 5ft 1″ and he’s 6ft 2″ tall… That’s where the cuteness is, haha!
Overall, we had a really lovely day, and the following day we had our road trip down to Pennsylvania for the weekend which I’ll talk about in a separate post. Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and I hope you’ll read the next one which should go up on Tuesday.
