Simple is one of those brands that seems to creep its way back into my skincare collection time and time again. This time we have the Simple Kind to Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion. I picked this up a while ago, and planned on using it as a night-time cleanser. This one can be found for £3.29 on Boots and Superdrug.
As my skin is mildly sensitive as well as oily, I like to have a variety of products that tailor to my skin’s slightly complicated needs. At night, I’m not worried about my skin being oily, since I’ll be trying to sleep. Instead, I want to focus on nourishing my skin, to combat my skin’s problems. This cleanser is meant to be good for sensitive skin, and is one of the factors that appealed to me.
I use this by squeezing about a 10p sized coin amount on a cotton pad, fold the cotton pad over to spread the product over the pad, then wipe on my face.
Like Simple’s other products, the packaging boasts some do-good ingredients, including: Pro-Vitamin B5, and Vitamin E. These two vitamins alone are supposed to nourish and protect the skin, so that’s awesome.
The texture of the lotion was surprisingly solid. I imagined the lotion is meant to be creamy and slightly watery, but instead it’s very solid and somewhat chalky. I’m not sure if it’s just a one-off situation, but the texture has made using the lotion extremely tough. While it still manages to cleanse my skin, it takes extra rubbing and work, which is a pain in the butt, if I’m honest.
Honestly, I’m quite disappointed. I don’t plan on using this up, or repurchasing, but if it is just a case that I was unlucky and isn’t normal for this product, then I’d love to know. I rarely feel disappointed by products, and I promise my honesty in every post I write, so when I was disappointed by this, I was actually surprised by that.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I really really appreciate it. If you have time and you liked this post, I would love it if you would consider reading some of my other posts.
