Review: E.L.F. Soothing Lip Balm

E.L.F. Soothing Lip Balm
If there was one thing that was distinctly awesome about living Cardiff, it was having an E.L.F. store in the city. There have been many occasions when I’ve casually walked in and looked through their products, even though I didn’t need to buy anything. It felt awesome knowing I could take my products home instead of relying on ordering their products online. Although I don’t live in Cardiff anymore, I am grateful I took advantage of opportunities to buy some of the products I wanted before I moved home. One product I bought and have been testing is their Soothing Lip Balm, from their Essential range. The UK version of the website is playing up, but this retails at around £1-£1.50, so super cheap!

I planned on using this as my makeup bag lip balm, since it’s the tiniest stick of lip balm I’ve ever seen. However, I’ve been using a lip balm with SPF in it, so this is now my night-time lip balm. The size is definitely ideal for on-the-go, but I have been enjoying using this just before bed, since it claims to be soothing. Honestly, I’m terrible at remembering to use this at night, but when I do I’m definitely happy I remembered.

The texture of the balm is quite heavy compared to some balms I’ve used, so it’s not ideal for wearing throughout the day, but it is hydrating so I don’t using this at night, since it doesn’t matter when I’m sleeping. Although the texture starts off as heavy, when I wake up in the morning my lips are surprisingly soft. I think if I made the effort to pair this with my lip scrub, I could achieve maintainably soft lips.

There isn’t really much to say about this product. It’s a simple lip balm, which I don’t regret purchasing. I was initially disappointed when I used this as a daytime lip balm, but after repurposing it for use at night-time, I really appreciate this product. This product comes in three “flavours”, the one I have being “strawberry creme”. I also have the “blackberry creme” “flavour”, but I seem to have misplaced it since moving back to my hometown. Overall, I do like this product, and if you are looking for options for lip treatments, this is a nice cheap option to consider.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, it really means the world to me. If you think you might like my other blog posts, I would love it if you would consider reading them. Regardless, please take care, and if you have any questions or thoughts about this product, or suggestions for me, I would love to hear about them.
