Review/Comparison: Simple Eye Creams

Simple Eye Creams

So, a little different from usual is a comparison post. For my day and night routine, I have been using two eye creams from Simple, and I want to discuss them today. The first is the Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream, which I use as my day time eye cream. The second is the Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm, which I use at night time. Both products can be found in Boots, and the links I’ve inserted will direct you to their individual pages.

So, why two different eye creams when they aim to do pretty much the same thing? Well, I initially started using only the Soothing Eye Balm, but found that it wasn’t quite right for my day time routine, so I started testing the former eye cream. While they are two very similar products, they do have a few differences when you take a closer look.

Simple Eye Creams

Ingredients-wise, they have a few minor differences, which honestly, I didn’t pay too much attention to. While I can’t list specifically, the Age Resisting Eye Cream has 6 “Skin Loving Nutrients”, while the Soothing Eye Balm counterpart has 3. Is this really evident when I’ve used them in my routine… Hmm, honestly no. But it’s the texture that made the difference for me.

While to the naked eye, the difference is particularly obvious, it’s when I was using it that I could feel the difference. The Age Resisting Eye Cream was much lighter to apply than it’s counterpart, which was ideal for morning application. When I smoothed it over my under-eye area, the cream blends over the skin very lightly and evenly – absorbing into the skin within a minute. The Soothing Eye Balm is better for night time in my experience, since the extra few minutes I needed it for absorption into the skin was best suited for when I was getting ready for bed, and suited that ‘soothing’ aspect of its name. It has a mild cooling sensation which is relaxing and a great way to incorporate massage techniques when winding down before bed time.

The key difference for me between these products is their application time, but they’re both valuable elements of my skincare routine. Otherwise, it’s just a matter of price: the Age Resisting Eye Cream is £6.99, compared to the Soothing Eye Balm’s price of £3.65.

Would I purchase these again? Well, I already have back-ups of the latter eye cream, so that’s currently out of the question. I definitely plan on using them up, and the former eye cream is definitely going to be noted as something to return to if I can’t find another eye cream that works better with my skin.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I plan on posting again by the end of the working week.
