Happy 1st of November. As it’s a brand new month, that means it’s time for a round up of the products I emptied. This month is fairly brief, but I want to go through them anyway, so let’s jump straight in.
Starting with hair and body care, I’m relieved to have finished up the Head & Shoulders Citrus Fresh Shampoo. This was a non-cruelty-free purchase I made by accident, and didn’t realise until I was already halfway through the bottle. So when I realised, I really beat myself up over it. I did commit in my current project pan to work through it though, so I can move it out of my life, and recycle as much of the packaging as possible.
It was a decent shampoo, although since trying out a new shampoo once, I do find I prefer that new formula already. I’ll review the mystery shampoo in the future, but it gives me peace of mind to move on to a cruelty-free alternative.
I didn’t empty this one, but the Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92& Soothing Gel is a historic purchase that’s just time to move on from. The gel itself is extremely lightweight and nourishing but it’s starting to change texture in the tub. So I don’t want to risk it.
Nature Republic are not 100% cruelty-free, so this is something to bear in mind, but if/when they are, this is a product I’d go back to.
Moving to miscellaneous skincare bits and pieces, it’s unsurprising to see yet another packet of the Botanics All Bright Cleansing Facial Wipes. These are my go-to makeup wipes for spot-cleaning my makeup brushes, but occasionally get used for lazy days to remove my makeup. These are biodegradable wipes, so I these are what I commit to using as they’re more environmentally friendly.
I also worked through the two sachets of the Dermactin-TS Lavender Collagen Mask, which I wrote a first impression on. These are nice sheet masks, but at the moment the packaging isn’t recyclable.
I also have the Olive Collagen Sheet Mask variant as well, with one of the two sachets appearing today. I still intend to use the other, but forgot to use it over the past weekend. I plan to write a first impression of these too, but this will be after I use the second sheet. So that’s in the works.
In terms of makeup, there are only a few. One I feel saddened about is the GOSH Giant Blush in the shade ‘04 Passion‘. These are really nice cream blushes, but I found the shade I just mentioned is starting to dry out a bit. So it’s time to move on. I did review the two shades I owned, so if you’re curious about my thoughts, I encourage you to read that post.
Lastly, the E.L.F. Moisturising Lipsticks are also leaving my collection, as they smell really off. I have the shades ‘Red Carpet‘ and ‘Rosy-Go-Round‘ photographed above, and I only got to use them a couple of times each.
These were lipsticks I bought in-person back when I lived in Cardiff and they still had an E.L.F. store, so these definitely weren’t going to last very long. But it was still sad, and it’s a reminder that I need to be more mindful to prevent waste.
This concludes all of the products that I emptied throughout October. It’s been a difficult month, hence a gap in posts the last week or so. But I’m slowly getting back to things. Thank you for being patient and understanding, and I hope you are happy and healthy.
