Happy Wednesday! Catching myself up on my schedule, let’s have a chat about the empties from the month of June. I did consider holding off for another month, but I really want to kick this procrastination out, so here we are. June was a month of rediscovering some self-care with makeup, and I was experimenting a little bit. So you’ll see that both my empties and my passing along post (coming soon!) reflect that.
Starting with a product I accidentally threw out before taking photos, I did finish using up the Collection Primed & Ready Invisible Setting Powder, which I used in the shade ‘01‘. This was a part of my recent project pan which you can see my round-up for here. I hit hard-pan on this one towards the end, so I was content to say goodbye. I was dealing with throwing out my project pan products as I wrote the post, and didn’t keep track of holding onto the pan for this powder for this post. Oops!
Moving to skincare, the first one I’m getting rid of is the Kueshi Nutrix Caviar Caviar Serum & Resveratrol. This is one that quickly expired shortly after I started using it, although I did accidentally buy a replacement. The replacement has different packaging from this one, so I think I bought an older version of this serum without realising.
For a short time, I was trying out the travel sample of the Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask in my bathroom as part of my pre-shower face mask routine. This face mask didn’t feel particularly special to me, so I don’t feel inspired to pick up a full size of it. It wasn’t completely terrible either, but it was just meh.
It’s not a Hollypop empties post without at least one sachet of makeup wipes. For a brief period, I tried out the Botanic Organic Cotton Facial Wipes in place of the wipes from the All Bright line. These were okay, but I can’t use them on my skin, no matter what. These were quite pungent and uncomfortable for my nose (and stomach), so I didn’t like holding them anywhere near my face. I also found on the few times I tried removing my makeup with these that it made my skin sting and feel very irritated.
These work fine for spot-cleaning my makeup brushes which is what I bought them for, but I’ve already repurchased the All Bright face wipes for spot-cleaning my brushes, as I don’t have issues with them on my skin on my super lazy days.
A couple of makeup products I’m getting rid of includes the Heimish Varnish Velvet Lip Tint in ‘#05 Dry Rose‘. I’m quite sad to be throwing this out, but I’ve started to notice the formula changing a bit. I wasn’t a huge fan of the formula when it was still fresh, as it was quite drying on my lips.
Finally, the K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h was in my recent project pan and I’m content that I’ve used this up. The consistency has reached the point where it’s really watery and barely pigmented anymore, and it started to run out around the end of its expected shelf life.
This is a product I would consider repurchasing, but at the time of writing, YesStyle’s minimum spend is £43.00. This has recently decreased from £60.00, but is still higher than the normal £30.00 minimum spend. I’ve also replaced this with a more accessible liner, so I’m going to see which of the two I enjoy more.
This concludes all of the products I emptied from the month of June! Thank you for taking the time to read my post, it really means a lot to me. I hope you are happy and healthy, and I’ll speak to you again soon.
