June was a successful month for me in regards to empties. I tend to work through products quite slowly, but this month a few products all ran out around about the same time, so I want to discuss them with you, and let you know my thoughts about them.
The first is the Botanics Cleansing Foam Wash, which you can find in Boots. I am going to be honest, this is less of an empty, but more of a cautionary purge. This had been my in-shower cleanser for at least three months, but I noticed the cleanser started to change colour from normal, so I decided to exercise caution and stop using it. When it was still in-date, it was a really nice gentle cleanser that didn’t over-cleanse my skin. I didn’t like how easily it foamed up and got up my nose or in my eyes, but that’s just one of those things right? My guess is that water got into the tube over time and sped up the expiration time. Which is sad for me, but in future I’m going to avoid this with my other skincare products that sit in my bath/shower.
Moving on to the Langé Paris Extreme Vitality Lotion, which I reviewed recently. Overall it’s a nice product, but I definitely encourage you to read my full review since I talk about it more thoroughly there. I got through this product reasonably quickly, so I’m not surprised this is an empty now. If you want to try this out, keep an eye out in your local TK Maxx, just in case they happen to stock it, since this is where I found this product.
Less of a beauty product, but still something I think is worth talking about, is the Dove Invisible Dry Deodorant. It’s a decent enough deodorant, it does its job, but I’m also not mind-blown by it either. I personally don’t like deodorants that call themselves antiperspirants either, since during the summer your skin needs to sweat and they try to limit your skin from doing that, based on what I was taught in school. Sure sweating isn’t particularly nice, but the body is helping us cool down this way, so I’m a little turned off for that reason. During the colder months this bothers me less, since I don’t sweat much then, but during this time of year, I’m a little unsure about singing praises for these types of products.
Finally, there is The Body Shop Seaweed Pore Perfector, which isn’t technically an ’empty’ but there are probably only two or threes uses left, so I feel like it counts. I have a review on this product too, but if you want a quick summary instead, I liked this product but it’s again, not something I sing praises for as a miracle product. I just know it worked for my skin in the oiliest areas of my face.
That’s all for my June empties, again, there weren’t tons of products this month either, but ones I feel did their job and I feel like I made them work for me. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, the next one should be on Friday. If you would like to keep up with me on Twitter, feel free to follow me and tag me in a tweet. Until then please take care, and I wish you good health and happiness.
