March is here, which means I want to open the new month with my January and February Empties. I finally have enough to talk about, so I’m combining two months into one post. I don’t want to drabble on though, so let’s jump in.
Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm:
This is a product that’s been discussed in multiple posts on my blog, most notably in my Review/Comparison: Simple Eye Creams post. This was my night eye cream for a long time, and one I’ve repurchased many times. I personally vouch for it, so I’m going to leave an affiliate link* here* for this product. What I like about this product is how light and gentle it is and true to the brand’s name, has never irritated my eyes. This is particularly important for me as my skin is becoming more and more sensitive lately. So while I’m sad to have finished it up, I’m also really happy I got so much out of it. The tube is small, but deceptively, a little goes a long way so it can last a very long time.
Superdrug Aloe Vera Mud Mask:
This was my go-to mask for my t-zone for the past few months, and a product that while it’s very nice, isn’t so impactful that I want to repurchase it. I think it’s great to pick up if you’re new to using face masks, but as someone who has a big stash of mud masks, I’ve used better products. It is very affordable though, which is why I think it’s a good choice for anyone who’s new to mud masks as it doesn’t hurt the wallet just to try it.
NYX HD Concealer:
I’ve been using this through most of 2017, and while it’s not a true empty, it is time to let this product go, mostly for hygienic reasons. I owned the shade “CW 01” which at the time at least, and I believe it still is, is the lightest shade. It’s not a perfect shade match for me – it’s slightly on the dark side, but patted down enough it didn’t look too glaringly obvious most of the year. Since winter arrived and I hid indoors even more, it’s just way too dark now to even humour it. So I love the formula and performance, but I can’t see myself repurchasing unless they make lighter shades. Unfortunately for me, this is the drawback of being extremely pale.
Holika Holika Black Snail Repair Toner:
I plan to publish a first impression post of this product, so I’m gonna gloss over this one, but the Holika Holika Black Snail Repair Toner was an interesting experience to try out, but it’s one I think I want to buy full size and try out properly because I’m so curious about it, but I’ll talk about that in detail in my post next week.
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm:
I busted this lip balm out after finishing the lip balm I will be talking about next, I wrote a First Impressions post that you can read to get an idea of my experience with this product. I used this up a lot sooner than I was expecting, so having this in my empties post today caught me off guard.
Boots Essentials Lipsalve:
An empty of both the literal and hygienic sense, I used up my Boots Essentials Lipsalve in the strawberry flavour. It’s a clear lip balm, and while it’s not hydrating in the sense of lip mask, it’s a really affordable and great lip balm for frequent touch ups. If I were in a pinch and needed a lip balm, I’d pick this up again. I currently have half a dozen lip balms in my stash, so that won’t be the case for me for quite a while.
L’OREAL Paris Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo:
My shampoo for the past couple of months. I have mixed feelings about this shampoo. I have a hard time managing my hair: I have relatively thick strands and is prone to crazy frizz no matter how hard I try to combat it. I like this shampoo because it’s not too difficult to wash out, but at the same time, it can be a little strange for me to work with. I probably shouldn’t use a shampoo with ‘thickening’ in the name, but I didn’t really find it emphasised my hair’s texture… I don’t regret using it, by any means, but it just hasn’t stood out.
These were all of my empties from January and February of 2018, which really built up in the past month particularly. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, I really appreciate you taking time out of your day. I hope you are happy and healthy, and I’ll speak you to you soon.
