Happy Friday! To round off the week, I want to have a little chat about my favourite products at the moment. These are almost entirely makeup products, which is quite exciting for me. I haven’t done a favourites post in a while, so this is really refreshing for me. Let’s jump straight in, so I don’t get a chance to ramble on.
Starting with a makeup brush, I really fell in love with the E.L.F. Flawless Concealer Brush throughout January. For a while I had been using it for precisely applying highlighter, but lately I’ve been using it to blend out my concealer. I’ve been using the E.L.F. 16hr Camo Concealer (in the shade ‘Fair Rose‘), which I plan to review in the future.
I’ve been enjoying how natural it makes concealer look, as well as not needing to apply as much on my face. So this brush is winning my heart at the moment, as I love to make products last as long as possible.
You’re going to notice very quickly an undertone trend throughout January. Starting with lips, I’ve been really enjoying wearing the Burt’s Bees Satin Lipstick in the shade ‘501 Blush Basin‘. It’s a very complimentary soft peachy-pink on my lips, giving my lips a slightly warmer tone without draining the life from my undertone. This has been my everyday sort of lipstick lately, and realistically a bullet of lipstick I might actually finish. For my comprehensive thoughts on this lipstick, I suggest reading my review.
Another lip product I’ve been loving is the Heimish Varnish Velvet Lip Tint, in the shade ‘05 Dry Rose‘. I intend to review this fully in the future, but it’s worth sharing that I love the warm medium pink tone. It’s a colour that really makes me think of autumn, but I love wearing it regardless of the season.
The blush I’ve been really loving throughout January is the Essence Matt Touch Blush in the shade ‘40 Blossom Me Up!‘. This is another product I plan to review in the future (as well as another shade), but I love the warm peachy tone. It’s very easy to start light and build up, which my pale skin tone appreciates, but isn’t lacking for pigment either. It gives my skin a very flattering flush of colour, and is a shade I consider universal. I typically prefer cooler tones, but it’s been refreshing to play around with warmer tones.
The eyeliner I’ve used almost exclusively throughout January is the K-Palette – 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner in the shade ‘Brown Black‘. This is yet another product I want to review, and had planned to review it already, but having a young puppy has made keeping my schedule tricky lately. I like the pigmentation of this eyeliner, and doesn’t look so intense against my pale skin while providing definition to my lash line.
I haven’t talked about this eyeshadow palette much since I ordered it, but I’ve been loving the cooler and warmer tones in the Chica Y Chico One Shot Eye Palette in ‘#Mellow Sands‘. The top row has lovely mauve-y tones, while there are also warmer browns along the bottom. I plan to test this out some more before I review it, but I’m definitely eager to.
And the inspiration for my very warm toned tastes throughout January is a very special little makeup piece to me. This is the ColourPop Baby Got Peach palette, which was a belated Christmas present from my brother’s girlfriend, which I cherish very dearly.
It sits on display on my vanity and it’s really inspired me to play with warmer tones and push myself outside of my comfort zone. I have really fallen in love with this palette so I can’t express my thanks to my brother’s girlfriend enough (keeping her anonymous to protect her identity).
I have since made my first order on the ColourPop website, so expect a haul when that arrives. I am so immensely excited that I check the tracking daily!
This concludes all of the makeup products that I was loving throughout January. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, it means a lot to me to receive your support. I hope you are happy and healthy, and I’ll speak to you again soon.
