Good day, and welcome back to my blog. Today we’re combining February, March and April’s empties into one post, as separately they didn’t have enough to talk about. So it’s a bit of a chaotic mash today. I’m not going to separate them by months, but into categories, so let’s jump straight in!
Starting with skincare, I worked through a few that you may be familiar with. From my January-March project pan, I included the Quick Fix Facials Mega Moisture Gel Mask, which I enjoyed using. I used this on my cheeks consistently before I hopped in the shower alongside a mud mask for my T-Zone, and I loved how soft my skin felt after using this mask. I have quite a few face masks I need to get through, but this is one I’ll be keeping tabs on, post-lockdown to pick up again.
A product I don’t have strong feelings about is The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner. I was excited to try the brand, as they are accessible at my local Boots store, but this wasn’t a product that provoked strong feelings from me. So I don’t plan on repurchasing it for the time being, but I will be looking into their other products in the future.
Another product that featured in my January-March project pan, was the Beauty By Earth Organic Lip Balm. I really like this lip balm, and have a replacement on my desk to work through, making it my second tube. I bought mine from YesStyle in a pack of 4, so I plan to work through these tubes for the foreseeable future.
Moving on to hair and body care, I only have two products, both a part of my current project pan. The first is the 250ml size bottle of The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. I’m really enjoying this shampoo on my oily scalp, so much so that I bought the larger bottle as a backup just before the lockdown here in the UK started. So I’m all set for shampoo for a while.
I also used up The Body Shop Cactus Blossom Shower Gel, which has a delicious and refreshing scent. This was a limited edition summer release, so I can’t repurchase it, which is a shame. But I am trying out their British rose shower gel instead. I won’t be throwing away the bottles for either of these as they are part of my project pan, but I also want to be able to recycle these in-store if/when things return to normal.
I also have a few makeup products that I emptied, starting with the de-potted eyeshadow from the Collection Work The Colour Nude Eye Palette, that was also featured in my January-March project pan. I enjoyed using this on my brow bone to add some lighter tones, and really feel like I used this up fairly well.
The same sentiments also go for the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara, in the shade ‘Espresso‘. It was a decent product, I don’t have strong opinions about it. I won’t be repurchasing it as I don’t consider NYX to be 100% cruelty-free.
I’m really proud of myself for using up as much of the E.L.F. 16hr Camo Concealer, as I did. I am kicking myself for not reviewing it, but it’s started drying out so I missed my chance. I used the shade ‘Fair Rose‘ which suitably pale for my skin tone, but ever so slightly too pink. However, I was able to make it work. It was a little drier for my skin than I would have liked, however I was able to work around it enough to make it last in my collection.
I’m also sneaking in one of the mascara wands you can pick up in packs from Primark, which I use to brush through my brows at the very end of my brow routine. I routinely swap these out for fresh ones, and this is one that was getting too dirty and gunky to keep using.
Last of all we have some miscellaneous products. Unsurprisingly, there are a couple packets of the Botanics All Bright Cleansing Facial Wipes. I’ll try not to be repetitive, as these usually feature in each monthly empty post. However, these won’t be featured for a while as I’m trying a different biodegradable wipe.
I also emptied a couple of hand wipes, including the Superdrug Aloe Vera Antibacterial Wipes and The Cheeky Panda Bamboo Handy Wipes. The former I kept in my bag for a long time, and found the last hand wipe had dried out, oops! The latter is a biodegradable alternative I’ve been picking up lately, and I keep a packet in my desk and now in my bag. I pick these up in my local Boots store, and plan to do so for the foreseeable future.
That concludes the products I emptied throughout February to April. It still wasn’t a large number of products, but more reasonable than discussing them in separate monthly posts. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, it means a lot to me to receive your support. My next post will be on Wednesday, which I hope you’ll consider reading. In the mean time, I hope you are happy and healthy, and I’ll speak to you again soon.
