Happy Friday and soon to be the welcome of a much-wanted weekend. Let’s round up the end of the week with my empties from the past 2 months. There aren’t as many as I normal, but I wanted to run through them quickly today. So let’s just straight in.
Starting off with a less conventional empty, I tried out The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom Deodorant, during my search to find a cruelty-free alternative. It’s an okay deodorant during the cooler times of the year. But I used this throughout the summer and it didn’t do enough for me, when our weather was hot and very humid. I definitely need something more efficient than this one, so I won’t be repurchasing it.
Moving to my skincare empties, both of these are from The Body Shop. The first is the Drops of Youth Youth Liquid Peel. I have reviewed this product so I won’t go too into detail, but ultimately the scent is what’s stopping me from repurchasing this product. It can leave my nose stinging and feeling nauseated, so I’m trying out one of their other liquid exfoliators instead to see if they work better for me.
I also emptied the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. I really enjoyed this moisturiser but I found I worked through it very quickly. But as far as Vitamin C skincare goes, this is definitely on my radar going forward as I try out other brands products.
As far as makeup goes, this isn’t a true empty, but it’s getting old enough to not feel right to pass it along. This is the Natural Collection Tinted Brow Gel, in ‘Dark Brown‘. The formula for this is quite watery compared to other brow gels I’ve tried, and I find it very difficult to control the pigment when applying it to my brows. The tone is also slightly too warm for my natural hair colour, so it just wasn’t quite the right fit for me.
Finishing off my empties with the miscellaneous products, it’s no surprise that another sachet of the Botanics All Bright Cleansing Facial Wipes. I’m really repeating myself here, but if you’re a first-time reader of my empties posts, these are my go-to wipes for spot-cleaning my makeup brushes and cleaning off swatches. These are also biodegradable, which is the major reason I go back to them time and again.
Last of all, I’m working through my box of 10 of the My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Sheet Masks. These sheet masks are from a historic eBay purchase back when I was still in university, and I recently pulled these out of their box to my sheet mask drawer on my vanity to work through. I enjoyed this mask so far, so I will continue to work through them for the time being.
This concludes my empties from August and September. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, I really appreciate your support. I hope you are happy and healthy, and I’ll speak to you again soon.
